Werdë is a concept within Filianism, to denote in the strictest sense one's fate, not unlike dharma in Buddhism.
To pull from some of the earlier Madrian writings, "Werdë...is the thread which runs through all our lives-the motor which keeps them running. We all have countless werdës stored up for us-some good, some bad. Everything that happens to us is directed by them, from dropping a pencil to inheriting a fortune. If we ran out of them, the soul's life in the material worlds would come to an end. But it can never happen, for we have been accumulating them for life after life, and we are creating them all the time. Of course, we will die in this life; but the time and manner of our death is simply another werdë stored up for us, after which we will move on to the form of existence that we have earned while we were here."
There is also the "Wheel of Werdë", also known as the "Wheel of Becoming", which is the wheel of the material plane as a way to visualize the ways that werdë can impact us, based upon the choices we make while we live our lives. Traditionally, it is drawn as a wheel with six spokes.
