Afterlife and Avala

Filianism does hold the view of reincarnation, and as we are a part of the wheel of werdë, the working of the soul in advancing spiritually means that we return again and again.. The resting "place" that is often referred that souls go to is known as 'Avala', and is seen as the destination of souls that have passed from life. It is described thusly:

"Avala thus means 'apple-land', and is often pictured as an orchard. Legend places it in the west, and it is there that the Tree of Life, bearing the Golden Apples of Immortality, is said to spread its branches."

Filianism promotes progression of self, virtuous living by way of the Janyatic virtues, and approaching closer to Dea. From the Scriptures:

"And when a soul in true devotion passes from the earth, lead her to the portal of Heaven and the garden of Avala, and give her rest, and provision her with treasures of the Spirit to help her on her way."

Avala is the resting place of the soul, before the next great adventure.
